Irish Coffee
"The Buena Vista's famous Irish Coffee was created in 1952 by writer Stanton Delaplane and former bar owner Jack Koeppler. In truth, the drink was recreated from the pair's memory of the same drink as served at the Shannon Airport in Ireland. Now, the Buena Vista serves up to 2,000 of this cocktail a day, to both tourists and locals chilled by the foggy weather at Fisherman's Wharf. About ½ cup hot coffee Fill an Irish coffee glass with very hot water to preheat, then empty. Pour the coffee into the glass until about three-quarters full. Drop in the sugar cubes. Stir until the sugar is thoroughly dissolved. Add the Irish whiskey. Top with whipped cream by pouring the cream gently over a spoon and serve."
